Giles County has implemented a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program. The purpose of the STEM program is to promote student interest and learning in science, technology, engineering, and math through the use of hands-on, engineering design-based activities.
As part of the STEM program, we will host a 3-day Summer STEM Camp for rising 5th grade – rising 9th grade students. The camp will be Monday – June 24th, Tuesday – June 25th, and Wednesday – June 26th from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Giles High School. This year’s camp theme is “Engineering An Amusement Park.”
Students participating in the Summer STEM Camp will get to experience a variety of interactive activities designed to promote design, innovation, and creativity. Students will design a roller coaster, build a working Ferris wheel, and create carnival games that they can play with their teammates.
The camp is free for all students. Transportation for the Summer STEM Camp will be furnished via central bus routes. Please see registration information for further details.
Light snacks will be provided during the camp.
Click Here for Registration Forms. Forms are due by Tuesday, June 4th. Please return registration forms to your child’s school office no later than the registration deadline.
